  • TJ Pro strangeness

Just curious if anyone has used a Throttle Jockey Pro with a DX7. I have it setup with the gain controlled by the travel adjusts on the aux2 channel. There is a two position switch and in the up position is my idle-up headspeed setting. What I generally like is to have the down switch position just shut the gov off so that it's just running on the curves.

But what's happening is that the switch is not turning the TJPro off. It does come on as it should with the throttle stick and shuts off when the stick is lowered but my understanding was that it should be totally off if the gain is zero.

I know the switch is working because if I set a different value in the down position it will give me a different headspeed but setting it to zero 'should' turn it off completely.

Is this a calibration issue where perhaps 'zero' on the DX7 isn't being seen as zero by the TJPro? Maybe I have to change the subtrim on that channel?
What's weird though is that even if I have the down position set to zero it seems to be giving me the headspeed corresponding to the gain value of the switch up position. I would have thought that even if 0 isn't seen as actual zero, it would be seen as some kind of very low gain value.

Long time ago since i had one but have you got the mix in ? Can't remember off hand but I had mine setup with 3 head speeds and as you have the 2 way switch for an off state.

Are you sure zero is really the zero position? Could it be that 50% is the zero position?

I'm not using any mixes, so the idea is it's either always on (subject of course to the throttle being above the threshold) or it's off. I'm pretty much flying this heli (Knight 3D) in idle-1 the whole time anyway.
