AR7200BX with YEP/YGE

I'm trying to set up the AR7200BX with a YEP ESC.
The BX will not allow the ESC to initialise, until I give full stick and return to low stick.
Then it will initialise and the motor will start.
The slow start on the ESC doesn't work at all, even though I have set it to Slow start.

Everything was working with the ESC on my IKON, but I have put it on another model.
I can fly it but it doesn't give e confidence that the ESC is working properly with the BX.

Does anyone have experience with setting up a YEP or YGE with the AR7200BX?

I'm not familiar with the yge/yep but if you need to hold the throttle stick at full throttle to enter the setup mode in the ESC you will need to bypass the fail safe in the AR7200bx

I don't need to enter the set up mode. Thats all done.
I have just flown 4 batteries, and it flies OK once you get past the weird start up procedure I need to do.
Also the Soft start is set to very slow, and it still give full power straight off the bat??
I'm hoping to get another IKON soon, but just want this to work for a couple of weeks.

I have the same setup on my Logo 500 - when I 1st setup I had to use throttle trim to get the ESC to arm. I can't remember the exact procedure but, it involves setting the end-points in your esc (again). You may need to power your beast with an external RX pack and do the high/ low stick setup then rebind it.

Do you have the prog card?

If you can remember the process, let me know.
I have tried re programming the end points, using the card and the sticks.
And I've tried using a separate RX pac.
But maybe i'm getting all the processes mixed up, and they need a specific order.

I have looked at this. Not sure if it will help me or not.
This is ok to get into the programming, but not something I can do every time I want to fly.
I have the programming card which I have used to programme everything.
The issue I have, is how to get the High throttle signal without all the sticks up and down every time I want to fly.
Maybe they are connected in some way.
I'll keep trying.
Hoping Craigjell will have an epiphany, and remember how he did his LOL

Ok we are one step closer
Did the separate RX pack
Went through high stick low stick. Got a series of conformation beeps
Now the Slow start works
But once I plugged everything back in, It still needs a high stick input to initialise

Hi Lee,

have you not selected the GOV store in your ESC?
it is looking like it and the motor will spool up to its max (when throttle at 100%) to store the optimal headspeed,

with linear 0-100% on your TX and after setup the BX,
- Start the BX with the receiver pack
- start the ESC with the main flight pack in prog mode, (prog card to the BX and ESC to prog card)
- special functions on the card, throttle full up press enter on max , lower the stick all the way down and enter again on min.

-providing you selected the normal governor, soft start and have now a flat curve on your TX, the ESC should start as soon as your stick is above 0 (or release throttle hold)

I did your method, but it wouldn't initialise at all after doing the throttle calibration with the card.
I had to go back and do the TX stick method, and now we are back to where I was.

GOV Normal
Soft Start working.
Needs High stick to initialise.
Then it works perfectly.
I could see it as an extra safety measure
But I don't like things not working as they should.

Not sure if they changed something on the ESC's/BX recently,
had 3 setups with BX/YEP and didn't find that problem before,

just read the file posted by SGD and even tough there is an extra safety net on the BX, I am sure HH guys don't expect us to have a flat 100% or linear 0-100% curve setup on the TX just to initialize the ESC....

provided you binded with Throttle hold on and 0 pitch (midstick) t should work well out of the box with the above method... :S

by the way, when I say 0-100% on the DX8 its the default 100-100 on the travel, and 0-100% on the throttle curve.

It won't let me bind with throttle hold on.
The alarm just goes off, and nothing happens.

BINGO!!!!! We have it.
Binding with mid stick and THR hold worked.
Had to switch off alarms for THR hold and High stick.
Now it works.

I have looked all over the inter web and nothing said about binding with mid stick and THR hold.

I feel so much better about flying my heli now.

im running the yep 180 with ar720bx with no probs it rocks on my agile 7.2 set up is easy with programe card .but as you know you show it high and low stick before you programe
