  • tiny gear on the end of the actual motor

hi all whats the score with the little gear on the end of the servo motor can this be changed as they seem to be made of cheese metal on the align bl700h

I had a crash last year with some brand new servos due to the tail servo locking and it did a huge piro (this must of helped battery strap loosen as when it stopped battery fell out and hell glidded down softly then nose dived at last 3 ft) engine was at minimum power and quite on impact luckily

so basically all servos were powered down due to battery lyin on runway doh.

since then I have flown this particular heli I guess 5-10 flights tops then servo locked solid. just stripped it and the small gear hidden in recess (motor pinion I suppose) is stripped

I guess this is what happened to the tail servo as when I whent to refit it I gave it a twist and was gritty (tail was ok boom slightly bent but only slightly) sent servo away and come back with new gears with a note saying it had defective gears. when used it zapped all power from fbl unit and rx and screeched (fast lads had a listen at rcha fly in and cringed at the noise) could it of been the same thing?

thanks for any replies on this as very interest to what any has to say as I think its not good I got a 10 year pluss old hitec in a 1/8 scale savage monstertruck and that got about 6+ hours constant use every week end for about 5 years and if I couldn't get it more than 20 foot off the ground I went some where I could (eg every 2 weeks it needed a double diff rebuild so used to take to skate part until it had no drive. servo is still going strong? p.s and no not every jump was perfect lol beatyourtruck.com was full of wussers compared to what I did to my truck

    all the best terry
