Gyro rates for ff9

I'm wondering if anybody can help me got a spartan quark on a trex 450 with futaba ff9 when I spool up near to take of I get serious tail wag doesn't seem to make any difference on rates that are in? Gyro is set up as per instructions. I've tried the ff9 on both standard and gy mode but still get a lot of wag. Any ideas?

I take it you have been up and down the gain?

what servo are you using?
Have you tried a shorter/longer servo horn?
did you set the tail linkage to be 90degs with zero trim and hover straight in normal mode? (it doesn't have to be spot on, just ball park)

Servo is futaba9650s yeah I centred the servo horn then went out 7.5mm then adjusted rod till blades were at 0 in normal. Don't really understand the up and down values in the menu or if the gyro mix has to be act or inh? I also changed the foam pad to a thinner one to help.

You don't want zero pitch in middle.

You want it to have around 6 degs of right nose.

Gyro screen just complicates things. Inh it and adjust the gain using the end point adjustment

Also check your tail mechanism is smooth and there is no binding. Even the slightest resistance on a 450 can result in a wagging tail.
