Have you checked that the sensor is only green when it passes over one of the magnets and not both? If its okay, then maybe set the values at 90 and 95 and see what happens.
    Cheers,

Tonight I tried to increase the values for channel 7 to 95 & 97 and this made a big difference in headspeed and the governor is now working Measured the headspeed to 2300rpm at 97% so I lowered it to 95 and got around 2100. I was a bit surprised that I needed so high values. I haven`t seen a table for the Align gov stating these high values. Is this really correct?

The values vary depending upon the gearing and the radio being used. I use the Align governor on a few non align machines as its cheap, easy to calibrate and set up, and personally it does the job well enough for me. I usually start at about 85% to be on the safe side and then adjust to suit. I'm sure my little Gaui is running similar numbers to yours. As long as you are getting the head speed you want, and you have the curves set up properly behind the governor in case it fails, I would say you are good to go.
        Cheers,
        Simon

If your not comfortable with the high percentages then you might want look again at your throttle servo to carb mechanical linkage/set up. The best set up for this would be if you could get ,say, +135% to -135% (for Futaba) to equal fully open and fully closed on your carb. This would give the smallest increase in throttle opening per 1% of adjustment, ie the finest adjustment which in turn would give more precise control via the governor settings.

What are your current throttle end point percentages?

Might be worth coming in a hole on the servo arm and try to increase you end points up as near as 100% as you can. Check for any binding and remember you need to recalibrate the governor if you make any changes.

I like to see my end points at 100% to get a good resolution on the servo, however, don't get too hung up on it. Just fly your heli, if the governor seems to be doing the job I'd leave it as it is.

+1 on Simon's reply. The numbers in the manual are only a guide and generally reflect what you would expect to see from a perfectly set up heli. If your set up works and your comfortable with it then just fly and enjoy
