Slightly fed up with savox on a warranty issue with a servo

Bought a SB-2272MG servo for tail use on my whiplash gasser.

    Lasted about 7 - 10 flights ish.

Then suddenly gave up and tail span round like an idiot, managed to sort of land the heli with not too much damage.

Checked the servo and it was jamming and then releasing and going to full travel, then jamming and going to full travel the other way. That's all it would do.

I had extended the lead on it by soldering and heat skrinking a longer cable on it (made a nice tidy job).

Thought it may have shorted out where I heat shrinked it, but there is no sign of any issues there.

So sent it back to savox.
They sent it to me and said it's a modifed servo therefore warranty void.
If they looked at it and said it has been shorted out therefore warranty void, I would have said fair enough, but not overly happy with the outcome.

So don't extend you leads like I did, even thought I think it makes a better job than extension leads.
Won't be buying savox again (unless thrown in with a combo heli)

Like most things mate, Warranty pretty much invalid once you start modifying.

I think you would get the same answer from most manufacturers TBH... Futaba. Align. MKS and the list goes on.

that's funny that is wish I read this 5 min ago just binned my heli (battery fell out) so not due to a servo but my align 750h is exactly as u descriped so naturally took apart gears perfect (heli landed on its nose)slight bend in boom but boom didn't hit ground and there was no power, its gritty as hell and locks up yet upon inspection looks perfect...... I wonder if this is why battery been dyin faster
