  • BLS451 or JR8717

Putting together a logo 600sx and having a nightmare choosing servos, have BLS451 in my other logo and there great but JR do have bit more torque and speed, will be running them of the jive bec at 5.6v, anyone tried both servos and noticed any difference?

      BLS451 or JR8717

For what it's worth. I have both and prefer the 451's

Cheaper, more reliable. Can run of 2s lipo no worries. And in operation seem to be faster and stronger with excellent centring. Just bought another set for my new heli.

I run the 451s off 2S lipos and love them. Excellent centring, smooth, fast, powerful, reliable and last a long time. When I flick the sticks I cant out run the servo, it keeps up with me so I cant see a reason for blisteringly fast servos. Personally, I think torque is more important than speed.

Have a look at the 452s they have slightly more torque, I guess due to slightly different gearing.

I sometimes think that many of these specs of these servos are overated to grab our attention. Futaba seem to be more accurate with theirs. For me they make the best servos.
        Cheers

Two of my helis (7hv and 6hv) are using these servos. They are pretty good and love the silent sound compared from my 610's. I have another set of 351's has more torque over the 451 and will be installing them soon on my esp.

The 8717 are a rebadged 8915 for the us market, I can't really tell the difference in flybarless. But both servo performed well in flybarred models of mine, brushless is meant to have a better response time over coreless. And brushless are more efficient and last longer.

Did you have to modify the frame on the 6HV to allow for the 451's, I tried this one, and if I remember rightly the servo was too big for the insert ?

Yes I have used 451's in my raptor G4 and swaped the out for 8717 hv's , there was a small but noticeable difference especially I "crack" flips where the speed became aparent .

also the JR's never developed play in the bearing / gear train but the Bls's did .

on the flip side the JR's failed first flight and stuffed a brand new heli , ho hum ,tough choice but 451's are awesome on a logo 600 but if for a 700 or bigger it would be JR for me
                  me hope this helps

Just to make it clear , as I just gave a seller on hear a heart attack , the JR that failed was brand new !!!!!!!!
Not the awesome set I bought off here :-)

No mod needed, I did use a servo extension though as futaba servo usually have short lead compared to align.
