I've been flying the 4500 mAh 6S packs in my Synergy E7 for about two months now. I switched to them having flown Gens Ace for the past year and half. Its a little early to tell but i have about 20 cycles on each and so far they are performing extremely well. I've been tracking the cell IR since new and they are averaging less than 1.5 mOhms per cell. Once i have a decent number of cycles on them i'll post a review, for now here's a flight vid with telemetry log:
A friend of mine has been flying the TP G6 5000 mAh packs for a while and he recently switched to Scorpions after trying one of mine. I'll ask him to post his thoughts here.
I also am running them ive tried many different packs from cheap zippys turnigy....tipple...optipower and of late thunderpower. ..so far my scorpions are definitely on par performance wise with my g6 thunderpower 6s 65c I always reserve judgement until after more cycles but so far so good coming down cool and solid.
These and the thunderpower are in a different league to the others out there!!!
The Gens Ace 6S 4000 mAh 30C packs i was using in my E7 were fantastic value for money (£70 each). I got to around 90 cycles on each of my 8 packs before switching, and they are still performing pretty much like new. Cell IR is averaging about 3 mOhm per cell. The 6S 3300 25C versions i had in my 600EFL Pro were still good value but aged faster. Unfortunately Gens Ace are now difficult to purchase from the UK and the high C rated packs are priced similarly to premium lipos.
I always fly with a 3.3V per cell telemetry alarm to tell me how the batteries are performing under load and when i'm pushing them too hard. I switched to the Scorpions because i found as my flying improved i had to start backing off on the Gens ace packs. For example i couldn't go up and practice tic tocs for very long because i'd start hitting my telemetry alarm. This was particularly noticeable during the recent cold weather. With the Scorpion 65C packs i can do a 4 minute flight of tic tocs and stay above the same 3.3V per cell threshold. I need to wait and see how they perform with a higher cycle count before making a conclusion, but so far i'm pleased.
Yep...the scorps are relentless excellent power from startto finish as in no drop out of volts when halfway through your flight like some premium brands.....
