Scorpion V-Link wont recognise ESC

Im trying to update the firmware on my Commander 45amp ESC with no luck
I've downloaded the Scorpion ESC Programer, Installed the drivers for the V Link and that connects to my laptop fine,Open the programer, Set ports to 'Auto Detect', Connect the V Link to the esc and power up the esc as per the instructions, the motor beeps 3 times, And then sweet FA happens
Just says 'No ESC Connected'

Any ideas anyone??

yup had one like that too & no joy it was buggered, your plugging it into the red lead arent you?
I contacted scorpion direct & a rather nice gentleman called Richard got me a new one sent air mail.
Superb service direct from scorpion considering I had already been given the run around by climbout
ie send it back we will check it etc & maybe in two weeks you might get to flky your heli

I think mine must be buggered because its never worked from the day I got it - trying again now and still the same....

Hi Nick, dunno if it helps but I had same sort of thing with castle link, if you plug dongle in before downloading setup prog, windows finds other drivers to run the dongle, so when you plug in to heli, pc dunno what to do!?!? Think I solved it by deleting and reinstalling software couple of times, swearing and plugging, unplugging dongle till it worked. Somewhere along the sequence something went right.
