  • Scorpion motor runs hot!!

Just wondering why scorpions seem to run hotter than other motors?

    That's just scorpions I'm afraid
That's why you have to oil them regular
As they melt the grease in the bearings , which then escapes out of the cages

Just make sure you don't have your mesh too tight

I've looked at comparable Axi & Scorpion motors of the same size & Kv and the Scorpion motors always list a higher constant current rating then the equivalent Axi. The Axi's will run at higher currents than the recommended levels and then get hot, similar to the Scorpions so I'm guessing that the Axi's ratings are much more conservative than the Scorpions, although they will perform at similar levels with the same setup.

Do you know what PWM and timing you have the ESC set to?
