scorpion 4025-890 help ????

I have managed to get hold of a scorpion 4025-890kv an I am confused. on the one hand it says in the description for a 600 heli on 6s or 12s. but in the spec it says max 8s.
basically will it run on a trex 600 efl on 12s? also it has a 5mm shaft, is I easy to get 6m shaft or a 5mm pinion

Think it's the wrong kv for 12s. Some of the 4025 are 8s only indeed

the description for 600 6 or 12s is for the 4025 series as a whole. Most of them take 12s

in that case I may have the wrong one for me. what would this motor sell for on here ? it is brand new never used

Yes, it's too high Kv, the stock Align motors fitted in the 600 Pro are either 510Kv or 530Kv so you should be around that range.

If it's brand new then wont the dealer take it back in exchange for the correct motor? Alternativly you may be able to find someone who would re-wind it for you which would probably work out the cheaper option compared to selling and buying another one. Demand for an 8s motor would be limited so you might struggle to sell it.

its one that my dad bought over a year ago to put in a plane without realising its a heli motor that wont throw the prop that he wanted. its been sitting in his cupboard since then. he's offered it to me but i ideally i would want it to run on 6s or 12s. the shop it came from has since gone bust.

you could probably manage to make 6s work with some gearing. not sure it would be ideal.

you could also go 7s i guess
