How hot does your scorpion hk4530 motor get? Mine was hot enough that I had to take my hand off after a couple seconds. This is after gentle flying only.

Also, manual says 15 to 24 degrees timing. Any preference?

    Thanks,

Depends on what esc you are using. For example castle esc likes 8-12deg timing 12 being default. Personally I run all my scorpion (1600kv and 4025 630) on 8 deg timing.

I have read that increasing timing on esc increases the temp of the motor. I dont know if it's true or not but there's only one way to find out. Bring your esc prog card with you next time you go fly and a temp gun will be handy (I do have one). Change it everytime you fly depending on how many packs you have and you will get your exact timing where you want it to be.

I've linked up a temp sensor on it nor from the telemetry so I should start getting some accurate temp readings. I'll start playing around with the timings to try and get it running cooler.

Out of interest, how hot should the motor be running under normal conditions?
