when you set in mode 4 and adjust the end point of the throttle min 84% then you set the same value on the max point?

I never messed around with that - I just set it to 100/100 and calibrate as per the Jive instructions. Set the throttle curve to what you want, your desired headspeed and it works just fine.

You don't have to mess around with end points for throttle - that is just a Mr Mel thing and is 100% not needed.

I feel that it's best to just follow the Kontronik manual.

You do, otherwise the throttle won't engage until you are a few mm up the collective?

Put throttle all the way down.

Knock your low endpoint to 50.

Slowly increase it until it arms.

There is no harm in this, most jive owners are using governor mode and as such you set the headspeed you want as a flat line and flick into it, that's what soft spool up is for.

I belive so My Kontronic powerjive 120+ is 84%-84% once calibrated feels better on the stick! tho if gov mode is on i am told it makes little differance.

just another question on end points if you dont mind guys.
I'm using a heli jive with vbar, do i set 100/100 and no sub trim in the radio and ignore the throttle part in set up of the vbar or through the vbar which ends up giving me about 117 either way and about 37 points of sub trim in the tranny. I will be using the jive gov.

Personally I have always ignored that and just ran 100/100 with no sub trim. I don't know if it's right or not but it's always been how I've set up any heli of mine or others. Works fine .

I think if you were to use the V-Bar gov things would have to be more in tune of V-Bar. Otherwise all you're doing is giving the ESC a signal to work with - whichever leads to the headspeed that you are after.

This has worked for me both with Futaba and all kinds of Spektrum/JR radios.

I used the sub trim to get 100% on the v bar

                        Thanks Laurence.
Been setting mine through the vbar and it's been giving me loads of dead band at the bottom end.
