  • Kontronik 80hv issue

Hi guys I'm having major issues with my jive 80hv. I'm trying to programme the thing, and first of all it hardly goes in to programme mode. Takes about 15 times of pulling the jumper in and out, and plugging the battery in for it to go into that mode. Once in that mode, while I wait for the beeps to programme mode 1,4 and 9 it randomly put a throttle high input in on which ever number beep it likes.

Tried to programme this so many times and always have the same issue. Even when I plug the battery in it tries to spool up and spins the motor u. End points are 100 / 100, throttle curve is linear.

really disappointed with kontronik if this is a faulty esc, as it will be my second one!

Are you sure that the jumper is fully pushed in before connecting the battery? Just a small part of the tab will be showing when it is fully home.

Hi Andy, I'm pretty sure it's all the way home?

I have only used the pin nearest the edge and the middle pin are you using those two pins?

Yes Andy, it's the pins that say jumper, the two on the right leaving the one on the left?

Do you have a power source to power up the radio gear to check that the throttle channel is working as expected using a servo?

Hi Andy, don't have a spare servo to try, but it all seems correct in the servo monitor menu of my 14sg. Programmed my cgy750 without issue.

What you see on the monitor is not necessarily what is coming out of the throttle channel at the receiver / fbl controller. You could just plug any servo to the throttle channel to check it and disconnect servo links before switching on.

Before someone mentions the throttle channel needs reversing as it is Futaba I can verify it doesn't actually matter with the Kontronik ESC as the jumper puts it into programming mode not full throttle. It will see what is set as low throttle and go with that.

Thanks Andy. It seems strange that even after setting a
mode one it still tries to spool the motor when when the throttle is low.

I have a feeling that you haven't actually managed to even program mode one then. It should not be spooling up. I have seen this once before and it was due to the jumper not making a proper contact.

Any chance of any image to show how much of the jumper should be remaining?

Have you got the esc plugged into the [TH/E2] port?

Did you navigate to the gyro mode function in the CGY750 setup and set it to [GYRO + THR]?

And I will ask one last time have you confirmed that the throttle is on the correct port of the fbl controller as set in your transmitter?

One final thought, I have seen that kind of twitching when using a Vortex VX1. In the case of that controller it is necessary to set the channel for an analog servo type. Is that an option with the CGY750?

Turn the lights on please I can see a thing!!
