  • Align Motor Strip down

Hi, Posting this question for a mate who is having a bit of trouble getting an Align motor stripped down.

Anyone know how to strip an Align motor?

Got me stumped at the moment - it differs from other motors in that there is no circlip on the shaft. There is a collar where the circlip would normally be - which appears to be pressed on.
At the rear is a 'fan'/rear plate - which is held in place by 2x4mm grub screws. Having removed these, the backplate is still tight on the shaft. I wonder if I dare use a puller to pull this off?

Need to do something as I can feel something between the magnets & the stator.

You have to press the shaft out from the top with an arbor press, they take shome shifting.

Isn't there a couple of grub screws accessible from the outside, where the cooling vents are. You still need an arbor press though as Grumpy says to push the rest out.

Yeah, there are two grub screws, the original post mentioned removing them... then you press the shaft out.
