  • Motor timing Question

I have a Ace RC Ripper OBL 44/11-30H motor with an ACE RC BLC80 speed controler on my Raptor 550s
and was wondering if I need to up the timing setting from low (default) to medium or high to get better perfomance.
It does say in the manual for the esc to set it to high for higher speed and "bigger" output power.

    Running on 6s 5000 30-40c lipo

Is it worth upping, and will it reduce motor longevity and make the change unnecesary in the long run?
    Thanks

As a rule outrunners have a higher pole count so need the faster timing, start off with medium timing check the temp of the motor and esc say after a 5min flight, up the timing to high and check again. If with higher timing it's cooler then stay with it
