  • using a helicopter esc and motor for a airplane?

Hi folks, i want to know the difference between helicopter electric motor VS plane electric motor. I just buy on hobbycool.com a Brushless motor Park 470 KV1700 + 60A ESC
It look like it's for helicopter, but can i use this for a plane?

if no, then can u explaine me why...

    thanks

I suppose it all depends on the Type of Model and the prop you use. An Higher KV means a higher speed motor so a smaller prop or ducted fan or even a geared setup for a glider and a LARGE folding prop????
Been there and done that, but never stop learning.
Now too many Helis to mention?

Generally, yes. I use a Scorpion helicopter motor (1000kv) in my hotliner, it rocks. If you go with higher kv motors, you just need to lower the volts/prop size to stay within the motors parameters. Definitely doable.Nitrotek
