  • LHC-branded 550-size motor - any way to identify specs?

    Hey folks,

Got a motor here which came supplied with a 550 kit, but it is unbranded other than the fact it came in an LHC sealed packet with a price of £52.80 on it.
It also came with a 14-tooth LHC pinion, and it is polished silver/chrome in colour with black end caps. It looks like a clone of the Align 600mx motor?

does anyone know if it is possible to identify its specifications, kV etc? It's brand new and will probably work fine in a 550 heli, but I don't like not knowing about it and current draw/voltages etc...

ive emailed LHC anyway, but thought I'd ask on here as I know a few of you use them regularly and may have some experience of the motors.. Thanks!

It's possible to measure it's kV take a look on this web page: bavaria-direct.co.za

The other variables are largely related to physical size and weight. Easiest to just weight the motor and see what it's closes to using a known motor brand for reference. This will get you in the ballpark.

it is more than likely a motor that has been removed from a kit
as most of the lhc branded spares are taken from kits and thus no oe packaging

          Cheers!
it is so plain in design that makes me think it's a clone of some sort, I'll see if I can get a photo here to show you.
