Hi all, I've just been looking at some utube clips and watched one were a guy said your LiPo batterys can die on you if you dont use them for some time or put them back into storage mode when you aint useing them? I was given a brand new Zippy 2200 20C series battery for my first 450 build and i beleave the guy charged it for me before he sent it but due to certain reasons i had to put my build on hold so i havent ever used the battery but now im wondering if the battery will be buggered by the time i finely get around to useing it? I would be very grateful for any advice on this matter as well as the best stuff to buy to get the battery onto storage mode so that it doesnt get ruined before i even get the chance to use it. Im a complete newbie to all the lipo batterys so ive still got a lot to learn so any advice and support would be gratefully apreciated. Many thanks

Usually lipos are fine, even if charged and left for some time. A storage charge really helps if the battery is going to see warm and cold conditions as it allows for voltage fluctuations.
Some say don't store a fully charged batt. many have stored them for a long time with no ill effects. I have! The cell voltages will have dropped slightly and may be out of balance so will need a check on a decent charger or battery checker before you do anything else.
Don't know about the charger.Last edited by David Drew; 28-10-2013, 05:20 PM.Happy Landings.

Charger looks okay - I have one myself. Look here for a better choice and even cheaper:
Chargers & Accessories>Battery Chargers and pick up a power supply there too.
