That's rubbish, even if you had the gear to pull that current, 10awg battery cable will just melt.

The mac C we have seen in testing pulled by the UK very best pilots on 5000 6S packs is 11C equiv. On the bench the 10gauge wires melt at around 235amps or just beyond. There are very few applications where you can even stress a 5000 6S pack in flight, I have seen 1 second transient amps at 320 with average around 100. It irritates the crap out of mee that suppliers put impossible numbers on packs and cannot substanciate them in any way at all. Just do the maths it cannot be possible!

They may well be great packs, but what marketing baloney. As mentioned the C ratings are not only unrealistic, but completely insane.

Clearly we're never going to pull that kind of current, however we surely all will welcome a battery that suffers less when high currents are demanded (puffing etc) and exhibits less volts drop in the process (bogging). For applications such as EDF, minimising voltage sag is vital since even a tiny drop in voltage represents a drop in RPM with a huge drop in thrust since the relationhip between RPM and thrust is not linear.If the technology works, then eventually it will trickle down to the lower cost batteries.Si G

What you are talking about really boils down to what the ir of the pack is. Unrealistic claims of ridiculous C ratings don't really tell you how it will sag... Do we know it will sag less than a thunderpower 65C? Will it sag less than a gens ace 25C?

We don't really know, because the C ratings have become meaningless advertising junk just because of claims like this.

Agreed, I think manufacturers use the IR to come to the conclusion on the C rating. Its like there is this strict relationship that the lower your IR the pack it immediately has amazing discharge capabilities.

It'll get to the stage where new batteries with incredibly low IR would boast even higher C ratings, 200C battery anyone?

You will need all that extra power to lift it off the floor - it's a massive pack! comparing side by side to an Opti or other similar pack it's much larger and heavier. They were giving the packs away (and some turnigy "Pyro" type motors that were terribly wound and loose) for the user's to write a review on. Most the reviews on alot of their products probably won't be so good
