Took my Logo 600 out today with the 2x6S Turnigy 3600's which I bought in January, photo shows what one of them looks like after landing. This was only the fourth flight with them from new, always balance charging and only taking 70% out each time. Thats £60 gone I guess and no doubt the Opti boys will jump on this one...

That's the reason I switch to my Raptor 50 when its cold, could be the Turnigy lipos are worse than most when the temperature gets below freezing.
I used to keep mine in a cool box with 2 hot water bottles at the field when it was < 5 deg and one still puffed a bit for me too, rest of the year no issue, except when temps get > 30 deg but that another story

You didn't break them in according to your post? My 30C isn't good & is puffy at the end of a flight & i can feel the power drop after 5min but that's had over 100 cycles. The 25C's i find are much better than the 30C & with Turnigy's you do have to baby them. You really need to break them in slowly for around 5-10 flight before taking them to 80%. I'm going to get an opti as you can see the huge difference in the way the opti's hold the power throughout the flight.Yes the big sigpic is coming back

Always charged on Icharger 3010B and balance has been spot on across the 4 identical packs (2 x flight sets) I bought. The puffed battery is now reading 3.78v 1-5 and 6 is dead. The other battery has 3.77/3.78 on all six cells.
No sign of any rubbing etc but it appears to have burst as there is a very strong gas smell. I did not notice any problem until I took the canopy off after the flight.Yan

If you do store it inside, store it in something fire proof just in case.Originally posted by yuppyflyer View Postgoing to see if I can make it into a 5-cell pack tomorrow. Do I leave it outside tonight in -C or safe inside?Harry

If you want to try and salvage the other 5 cells, I'd remove that dead cell tonight and leave it outside. If not, leave the whole pack outside, but you may well do damage by allowing it to get that cold. I wouldn't be storing it indoors though!

It's an end cell so it's very quick & easy to remove safely. The only thing with making it a 5s is your left with a big lip at one end but it will still work good as 5s. My 2 repaired 6s packs to 5s have both exceeded 200 cycles so you'll still get good flights from this pack paired as an 11s geared for 12s.
Here's mine with the cell removed & all i done was bridge across them two end pads & didn't need to remove any of the balance leads either

Have removed the bad cell so some plank flyer goin' to get a bargain 5-cell pack.
Tim - nearly went for Opti packs when I bought these 4 x Turnigy, but would have been another £100+ even in the FL 15% sale, maybe should have done it in hindsight. Might well take you up on your kind offer, does it include a go on the Extreme - lol!Yan

Are there any signs of puncturing or perhaps its rubbed a frame? I wouldn't expect even a Turnigy to fail that quickly or dramtically.
