I was talking to another member today about the opti packs, our take on them to account for the extra cost was to have one or two sets only and fast charge them at the field to ramp the cycles up during the warranty period.

I have a viable fast field charge setup now so one or two packs used a hell of a lot might work out as viable. If they are actually so much better than the Turnigys then faster turnaround on them per pack would work within their 3c limit for charging.

So in effect, buy dearer packs and run them more as opposed to lots of packs and don't field charge.

I have got a pair of the 6s 3000 30c Turnigys on the way(blue),my 3300 blue ones have been good but I don't think would go for nanotechs again,my one set are now possibly showing signs of losing power during flight compared to the older Blue ones I have.

I am actually looking to get something below 500g per pack. Do you have any experience with Blue 40C Lipos?

Yeah, I've been fairly unimpressed with the nano-tech range too and I don't buy their claimed C rating at all: the voltage drop under heavy load is high and you can hear the motor speed drop off substantially. By comparison, I find the 40C standard TURNIGYs very strong and lower in price.

I found Sky Lipo 3000mAh 30C 502 grams, Price will come to 35£ each including shipping from US and customs.
People say that they stand just beside Gens Ace, have any of you used those recently?
