  • weights of 5000mah 6s packs!

    I just got 4 Turnigy 6s 5000mah 30/40C packs and I was a bit surprised to find
they weigh about 830 grams each. For some reason I had it in my head they
would weigh something like 760 grams.

So now I'm curious, is this a typical weight for this size pack or are there
    some that are much lighter?

Yes Sheryl, even the site says 836grm for those packs.. Optipower packs seem to weigh the same as Turnigy. Not sure about more expensive packs so will let someone else answer that. However recently, ive been looking at GensAce packs (from good reviews at HF).. the 5300 6S says its has a weight of 760grms Gens Ace 30C 5300mAh 6s 22.2V Li-Po Battery which seems to be what your expecting?!

        Martin,

I just got a cell out of stock and measured it at 765 grams (inc EC5) and the actual cell body is 45.41mm T 46.60mm W and 162mm L. The W and T mm are the actual cell size the bit where the wires come out do increase the thickness a little.

This is a 5000 6S Split cell so would be a tad lighter if it were not a split cell.

        I hope this helps.

Andy, any chance of getting an accurate table of size and weight for all your packs?

I've not yet found any of your resellers using the real numbers, just the pre-release details.

            Mark,

If you go to our website and go to documents then to page 7 all the info is there. OR click on a OPTIPOWER cell in the catalogue amd then go to related documents its there to.

            http://www.optifuel.co.uk/library/library

There are tollerance on size and weight but generally the cell come in a tad under weight.

            Hope this helps.

Also been reading good things about Gens Ace packs and intend to try some of these as they are much more realistic in price.

Uk stock also Chris, looking like they might be a bit big for my fusion 6s 60mm or under is preferable for width to fit in without rubbing on the frame.

Thanks Andy, looks like you've updated that one since I last looked

Now you just need to get the retailers to correct their websites.

It was page 6 for me and this link should work I think:

                    Hi Martin, they state 43 x 64 for the 5300mah / 49 x 63 for the 5050mah / 48 x 50 for the 4550mah

Chris, I cant agree with you more, GensAce packs are very realistic/great value for money and its UK stock! With the reviews on HF it seems very stupid not to try them. I have ordered a pair of Opti packs but gagging to try the GensAce ones at that price
