  • Turnigy Nano Tech puffed

All four packs have puffed, I swapped two of the worst packs around from each pair to make an auto pack (#4 you see here) but this has puffed to something crazy even with just autos and hovering so I'm binning it (after discharging of course).

In total they've had just over 20 flights on each in series. The puffing started at roughly 12 flights in. The major puffed one I think experienced two 3D flights.

Pack care was the same as all my others..

The pack #3 I made of the two better lipos still is flying ok, but with very low power.

    Great value for money

Please note that this was just my experience, I just thought the Nano-Tech's were the best they offered. A little disappointed to say the least..

    Cheers,

    Laurence

My 9 month old ones are perfect 6s 3300s that is,probably 50 cycles i reckon, never run in either.

Yours do look Donald Ducked though.

I contacted them - you only have 30 days to do so in, and I think I was just out (long warranty...) either way they wanted me to send them back to them, not only would that cost quite a bit but it's bloody dangerous sending them back in this condition.

Not only that but with faulty goods really the seller should pay shipping back.

I'd be afraid to keep these at home, honest.
I've got a couple of Nanotechs for my 250 and they are not puffed, but I've noticed quite a big loss of power after about 30 flights (no 3D flights, just normal). Difference is huge when comparing to similar age Align packs.

My optipower's have had more cycles on and have been treated a lot worse (harder flying), yet look at the state of them in the last pic .

I haven't had much luck with the nanotechs myself. I bought 2 for my 450 heli to try out, and ran them in for about 5 flights. Power/punch was never as good as the standard turnigy packs, and now have 19 cycles each in them.(remember 5 were just running in). Both are now useless. Power drops very quickly, and quite disappointed really. Only good for flying basic circuits now.

Compare to some Rockamp packs that I bought some time ago.. I have 110 cycles in one, and power is still very good..Although have puffed a little.

Hoping to purchase some optipower ones soon to see how they fair.

I heard a lot about Rockamp but then suddenly nothing... Maybe because Optipower come along? Odd...

P.S discharging now and keeping a eye on them in front of me. Thanks.

Not good... But to be fair I've seen the same on other brands.

You just work them too hard Laurence! Lol...

I have one big nanotech pack in my plane which is going fine, but doesn't get worked hard at all... I have 4 little 1000mah 3S nanotech packs for my X2 and they are going great, but they are massively over specced for the needs of an X2 in terms of C rating... So even if the C rating is a third of what they claim they still have more than enough lol.

Now have 4 new normal (ie non nanotech) turnigy 6S 3300mah packs for my 600, Hopefully they'll carry on my tradition of being fairly happy with the turnigy packs.

I must admit I'm tempted to try some optipower lipos for the 600 but when you have to buy pairs it gets expensive fast! I might buy one more pair of turnigy if the sets I have go well and then one pair of optipowers.

I think even hovering these would have puffed... Maybe I just got unlucky, probably did but then that's a lack of quality control, what's to stop my next packs doing the same from them...

They seemed to have alot of good feedback from forum members before, but maybe guessing the price was just too high. Last time I saw anyone doing them, they were £50 for a 3s 2200 pack for the 450!

I'm hoping if optipower packs are as good as the rockamps, I will be well chuffed as the price for their packs seem pretty good.

Glad I bought 6 of these then..........oh well, will just have to see how I get on. Could have gone for the standard Turnigy's, but thought the Nano techs would be better. A few of the guys at my club give theirs a fairly hard time and they have lasted.
                        Cheers,

Up till now , my nanos have been good after a couple of dozen charges each, tho' I must say their balancing ain't so good. It's a tricky position to be in, but would it not pay to return them and hope for a replacement rather than binning them ? Even to HK ? You never know, it'll take a while, but they're no good to you now anyway.

Trex 450 SEV2, hack, freeby, but getting expensive. Binned the bu**er !

mCPX, better than a Phoenix anyday.
                            Several planks, gathering dust.

Brains and thumbs work okay, but not at the same time.

The ones I get back might be the same, not worth posting it back for the chance. And you're not even meant to post puffed lipos.
