When I first built the 600 I got two packs of ordinary Turnigy 6s 3000 mah 20C batteries. Shortly afterwards I got two packs of Nanotech 3300 mah batteries. After a few cycles it became apparent that the ordinary batteries had a higher voltage at the end of a flight. I don't do much more than hovering so I haven't stressed either of the packs. Now after about 60 cycles each the ordinary packs are still in reasonable condition and the Nanotechs are on their last legs. I am still able to get five minutes of gentle hovering out of them but Andy from Sandy measured their IR with his Wayne Giles meter and found two cells that were unacceptable. The packs are only fit for the bin.
On the other hand I expect to get quite a lot more use out of the ordinary packs.

Out of interest is it all C ratings that are puffy?
I always thought it wierd how they list it for nanos, for example 25~50C, 45~90C.

The 65C's still not horrible, but with aprox 10 cycles only soon will be joining the PUFFY club!

I think you get a good or bad one, but if anything will swell them the goblin will I have run some higher c ones not puffy but a bit spongy after 700 flight and some lower c rated ones in avant and don't seem to get as punished.

I've got a 450mah nanotech for the 130-X which is very good. The previous 2200 3S for a 450 was not very good and a blue turnigy was better. Seems difficult to know what to do for the bigger batteries.

So, people, what can I use for a 450 Sport that's a good compromise between price and performance? I've got 4 of some 20C (white poly powers) that are not cutting it and I need to replace them. I see that Optipower's are £27 each. I know compared to 6S packs that's cheap but all the same, it's a lot more than the £11 each I paid for the ones I have!!

                      I'd give these a try mate: Haiyin – 6S 3300mAh 30C « ElectriFlyer

As a budget option they are getting good press from other flyers and offer true C rating too. UK seller and are tested prior to dispatch.

Wouldn't bother with Nano-techs so many people say they puff up in no time.. The standard blue turnigys are better but think the Haiyins are worth a try over the turnigy.

Are those Haiyin's the same as these "Poly Power"'s : PolyPower LiPo 2200-3S (11.1V) 30C, BRC Hobbies

                        Ignore the fact that I just linked to a 3S 2200 !!

When I check the 3S 2200's they were the same weight and length, and the underlying packaging it white, just with a different label. Just wondering as those Poly Power's are the ones that just aren't cutting it for me on my 450. I did buy 20C's though. They were fine when learning to hover. Just not any more.

Agreed, actually you can find them much cheaper on Giantshark (£14) so why indeed pay extra at fastlads?

Gens Ace 2200 25C 3S Lipo Battery - All - 3 Cell Lipo Battery - Lipo Battery - Giant Shark

Currently using Turnigy Blues 3S 2200 40C (£12) and very happy with them as many have commented but i am tempted to try the Gens Aces now.

I just pulled the trigger on 2 of those blue Turnigy's at HK Uk warehouse just to see what they're like. They happen to have the XT-60 connectors which I use which while not essential as I'm quite happy soldering does save me a job.

I ultimately usually run with 4 though so I may get a couple of GensAce next month too. Oddly enough I tend to fly more in the winter!
