Are the Nano-techs as crap as people make out? I need some light batteries for the goblin and the weight of these are too hard to ignore.

I've always had the impression that the regular turnigys are better than the more expensive nano techs.
Hang on I'll dig out the link I read.

Ah nice one, prices must have dropped, they used to be more IIRC. Must have dropped them since the ASPEC range came out.Originally posted by cupracing View Postthe nanos are actually £10 cheaper
I've not used them but I know some that do and like them, but they will agree with what Kroozing said above. They don't take kindly to abuse.Harry

Horses for courses really, and depends what ones you're talking about and what you're using them in.
I don't have any big heli's so can't talk about them. In my MCPx I bought 12 nanotech's and they perform far, far better than they stock ones. BUT, yeah, they've all puffed. However, that's because the MCPx is a beater and they were like a £1 each or something so, yeah, I often abuse them and fly until the battery cut off even though I know I shouldn't so that's not really a fair judgement.
I've got 4 nanotech's that I use with a 250DFC and they are a different story. Good performance and no puffing whatsoever. But I treat them differently. I really, really don't fancy rebuilt that fiddly thing so I land those packs usually between 20% and 40% left. Although yesterday I did get as low as 16% left. And they seem great.
For my 450 I don't have any nanotech's, just "Poly Power" and they really don't cut it as the C rating is too low!
So, depends largely on how you treat them I think.

Yes!!!Originally posted by cupracing View PostAre the Nano-techs as crap as people make out? I need some light batteries for the goblin and the weight of these are too hard to ignore.
I bought 4 x nano techs from HK last year, all lost power quickly only 1 is still useable and 3 are now just nanopuffs. The regular Turnigy's however are still going strong and don't cost much either. Personally I won't be getting any more nano techs

Standard Nanos as mentioned are't great,
they don't like the heat at all, and will puff very easily, gave up on them a while back...
The new A-spec are different, have two running on my 550 and they are behaving but for the price and weight I would stick with the Blue turnigys or would be looking for some Gens Ace/Optipower

I must have the good ones then, been using them over 3 years now and still going strong and that's also leaving fully charged in a container for 3 months while they got transported here from Oz ...crashed a set last month and hey guess what ...one cell went down from the shock...charged it up as a single cell through the balance port and its back and going strong! so will be using them for many more months to come ....mine are all the 6000 mah cells in 2s and 4s packs always charged at 2c from day oneBe Truthfull.....To yourself First!...
