2 hours!? Is it set on charge only?

Make sure it's not on charge/cycle settings.

If charging in parallel double the charge current. For 2x5000mah @ 1C you need a 10A total charge rate. They should be done in less than 1 hour.

If your charge rate is 5 amps (the post is not too clear about that) then you are charging at half of 1C which will take up to 2 hours including balancing. As St200ol says, you need 10 amps to charge at 1C.

It should take 45 mins to an hour. Something is not right with the charge somewhere, even if it reaches full the power labs stop balancing after 15 mins of trying to get the packs right.

Have you tried the charger on accurate charge and one pack at a time to see if one of them has dropped a cell?
Something is stopping the charger from peaking the pack voltage which is preventing it from switching to final balance mode. When it stops at two hours its the charge time limit.

Ps. Another thing to consider, are you using the packs as a pair or one at a time, if its later then they need to be reasonably well matched before charging.

Yes tried accurate charge and that take for ever.
Yes the packs are used as pair in a 700, I am also thinking of using them in my 550, is that something you would not recommend.
And the last charge i notist with smart guard battery checker 1 is 99% 1 95%

If the packs are getting tired then they could be out of balance, and it's this that is adding up to the long charge time.

If I look my packs during a charge then the balance phase can be around 20% (around 10 mins on a 50 min charge) of the time on a good set of packs, but I've got another pack where the balance phase is a good 40% of the charge time and as a result the charge time is around 70 mins.

Thing is with parallel charging I find normally when I connect the packs together the small differences in cell voltages even out. Unless its the same cell in each pack that's low.

For me its the best side effect, normally balancing is much faster.

Maybe try charging the packs separately and see if they both take a long time to balance, maybe one will be fast and one slow.

What he said above, try them one at a time.

One of the packs is probably on its way out.
