  • Balance plugs

Recently got a pl8 and para board and its fine with my align lipos but my old faithful Kokam SLPBs have the skinny type balance plug and won't fit the board. Can I replace the balance plugs with the type that do fit? Is it just a simple solder job just making sure the leads go in the same order ? Or a no no ?ImageUploadedByTapatalk1367788440.595360.jpg

It should be fine as long as you do it in the right order one at a time. I never change type but replaced the old with new one. One lead at a time and insulate it then the next one till you done.

You can replace the balance plugs,
but as Franky said mind those wires...

had similar situation with some Hyperions, and an "safer" option is to leave the lipos balance plugs alone, get some standard JST and kokam leads (try GS) and do the soldering with these,
leave the conversion lead in the paraboard and use it to charge the kokams.

Changing the balance lead is a good option in the sense that you can check the lipos charge status on the field with those common battery checkers, so I would't dismiss that option.
keep a bucket full of water around. (you may get thirsty)

As far as i know the lithium fire split the water (H2O) into hydrogen and oxygen so i would leave that option alone. If you have a fire extinguisher for cat D (Live electrical) handy that's fine.

Yep, agree with that, surely a fire extinguisher would be the best solution...

Tough I must confess, I have submerged a few lipos (water planes and RC boats ) and never experienced any problem.

Yes they are fine with water-until they caught fire...
