  • Revolectrix bump controller

Afternoon HeliaddictsDoes anyone on here use the Revolectrix bump controller. Im busy getting parts together to build up a charge case, i have a coolice 2400w 25v psu and power lab 8 along with the revolectrix mpa board.Just seen this bump controller and it looks a nice idea. Does this controller in turn take over the powerlab 8 and allow you to charge say 3/4 lipos at anyone time but charge independent or i'm i totally talking rubbish lol I normally charge 3x 6s 5000 packs at once in parallel with the mpa board, but to be honest im not that keen on the parallel charging thing. so thats what's got me looking at the bump setup.Cheers Gary

You would still be parallel charging if charging at once, its a could tool, it basically by passes the need to setup the PL8 each time you charg a pack. Just just bump the tag and off you go.

To charge packs independently the only options are either multiple chargers or a dual/quad output charger.

I use the Bump, main reason being is its quicker to just use the Bump tag on each lipo and charge setup done then press 'go' to start charge also same again if you want storage charge lipos between fights to preserve the life of them.
Very handy bit of kit to have.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

            Hey buddy.

Glad to see one of my PSU's soon going be living within a charge case.

The Bump Controller is just as it sounds really, a controller of the chargers it is connected to and in this case it has 4 channels so can control 4x PL6's/8's or 2x PL8 DUO's.
The idea is to remove the need to use the buttons and LCD on the charger itself and instead use programmable (write once only) NFC (Bump) tags that attach to the battery.
So to charge said battery you bump it on the Bump Controller and the data you have written to the NFC tag sets the charger up to charge that pack.
You can bump more packs of the same cell count to charge on the sane channel, each pack bumped is added to the current charge program being setup ready to go.

The other benefit is the wireless transfer of not only data, but complete control of the charger, to a handheld device such as a phone, tablet (Android and IOS apps available) and soon Windows PC to.

For a charge case this means you can bury the charger away within the case and not need to have access to the buttons or LCD, but just have the Bump Controller in view.

I've got one and a PL8 DUO to build a case around at some stage and Revolectrix have just released their complete line of PL chargers with the Bump Controller built on top in place of the usual buttons/LCD.

              Hi Ian

Yes had my psu about 3 years now its been great.
now i fully understand how the the bump controller setup works

i think i will build the case up with the setup i already have and look to add the bump controller later on. i really like the idea of the data side sent to a tablet etc

thanks once again chaps for your help

                Hey Gaz.

Brilliant, glad to hear you're having nice trouble free power.

Yeah you can always add in the Bump later on to any PL case build, so that's good.

If you need custom cut acrylic to make the deck of your case give me a shout, as I have a laser cutter and CNC router here now to produce all my cases in-house. So can cut individual components to order.
