  • MPA board indicator strip have changed colour?

I have a PL6 and MPA board and ive noticed that a couple of the indicator strips have changed colour, and a couple of fuses have blown both for the same 'Charge Port'

Why do they change colour? Does it mean its dead? It still seems to work ok. Do I need a new one?

If the main 40A fuse in the 'power' side of the board have blows, it means that you have either shorted out the terminals or connected a battery the wrong way round. The strip fuse that has changed colour probably means the same thing has happened to the balance side of the same port.

You won't be able to use that port on the board, but the other ports will be okay. It is fairly easy to replace the 40A fuse, simply unscrew the top board, unsolder the blows fuse(s) and replace it with a new one. 40A fuses are quite hard to find, as it's not a common car rated fuse.

The balace side is a thermal fuse I think and should reset itself....if you want any 40A fuses PM me....I've got a box of them (after I accidentally shorted a plug out)!

The thermal fuses should reset once you remove the offending battery. If they are not doing this then your board (for that balance connector) is probably ruined. They go a red colour once 'blown' and go back to black once they reset.

Ive got a couple of 40 amp fuses, thanks for the offer though.

Well they dont appear to have reset on one of the ports as i cant charge a 3s on that port but the others are ok.
