Hi I need a little help if that's possible, I have a 12V power supply that is rated at 30 amps and 415watts,
    i am thinking about getting a PL6 too charge my 6 optipower 6S 3500s.
    will this be possible ?
    cheers Andy

    PL6 ●Continuous maximum output power rating, 1000W @ +30VDC input voltage, 408W @ +12VDC input voltage

i charge 4x5000mha packs on a gt500 charger on @20amps on 24v supply which equates to 500w, so you will need a bigger supply or charge at under 1c for your rated 415w you have

Your 12 volt supply at 30amps only gives 360 watts. This would allow you to charge two batteries at 2C, or four batteries at 1C. Why don't you talk to Coolice about a better power supply got the PL6?

        Hey buddy.

According to the rather excelled online calculators on the Revolectrix Web site, with a 12 volt / 30 amp psu a PL6 would be able to supply a 12.1amp charge rate. So that's a little under 3 of your packs @ 1C charge rate. Will work but won't be very efficient.

As said ideally you need to feed 25 volts into these high power chargers to make them work more effectively and shorten your charge time's, which is probably why you're looking to upgrade to a PL.
As mentioned I make up power supplies to order, one of my 1150 watt, 25 volt, 47 amp units suits the PL6 nicely.
Andrew Hinton-Lever the boss of Opti-Power UK, is now sending people my way for power supplies as they no longer produce their own PSU.

+1 to coolice I have his power supply with pl6 and it works great.
I charge my 5100mA packs in 25 minutes in paralel at 1c charge rate.
