  • PL6 & MPA Charging

Hi all - I just a have a quick question if I may.
I read somewhere but can't remember where? that there is a correct sequence for connecting the batteries balance lead and main power leads into a MPA board for parallel charging without the risk of damaging anything.
Can you please advise me which order this is supposed to be.

    Many thanks

I connect everything apart from the batteries before I turn on the power supply, ie. power supply, PL6 and charging board, then I connect the balance lead before connecting the main battery lead on each battery in turn, and Ive never had any problems.

      Thanks Phil.
Thats just what I wanted to know.
I'm happy now, can go and charge my 3s packs without worrying.

Yes connect all the balance leads first, reason is the 4A poly fuses will limit the current to 4A :-) if packs are at different charge levels and add a bit of an extra safety factor. Remember to check the heat sensitive strips on the poly fuses before starting the charge too.

I remember reading something like that now you have mentioned the reason for plugging in the balance leads first. Oh what joy to have a rubbish memory !
Thank you for the extra information on the heat sensitive strips.
