Yes Don You can do it in two ways.
    (1) set the charger to its Pb (which is SLA 12v on Pl8) setting and choose the amount of amps you want to charge as as normal.
    (2) simply power the Pl8 from the car battery in question then connect one of your fully charged Lipo's to the charge side of the charger and select storage charge on the charger, it will discharge the lipo and re charge the battery.

    hope that helps.

If Im not mistaken Don, choose the Pb thing. That will charge the battery. Charge rate will be tricky as I have never charge a lead acid off my pl8 before as I have proper lead acid battery charger. Mayb others will chime in.

There is a standard setting for charging lead acid. Just don't charge it to fast.

Its normal to charge at less that 0.1C Don, so if its an 80Ah battery, a charge rate of between 4 and 8 amps should be about right. The charger should know when to drop the Amps as it will stop taking charge

Constant current to between 14.0 and 15.0V. Then current reduces to around 10% of constant current charge. Bench charge rates usually written on battery. Car alternators don't limit the current much. Bench charge typically around 5amps. Same as lipo charging really, just to a different voltage.

The battery reduces the charge current, not the charger. That's why older batteries take longer to charge as they reach the full volts quicker.
