PL8 Presets

Just after ideas for PL8 Battery presets? How do you have yours set up? A preset for each battery type, or do you just stick to the set library presets?

Also,I have a few LiFePO4 packs. Do I use the A123 preset?

After having a preset for each battery I now only have 4 presets:

a123 for my life packs
a LiPo 2.6amp (1C) "precision" charge for my TX pack
A Generic LiPo storage charge preset (storage charge any lipo)
and a "high power precise lipo charge" - I use the high power preset so it gives me the full 1 to 40 amp charge range.. BUT I adjust it manually depending on what I'm charging and how fast I want it to charge. I have also ticked the option for allowing parallel charging on this preset so I can do that aswell off this one preset.

Thats it - just 4, does everything I need.

Thanks Matt, I ended up doing pretty much the same thing.

Do people use the fuel table feature?

Dunno if you know, but if you find yourself at the field and need to charge something you don't have on your preset, you can copy presets from the library manually pretty easy.. Just select and empty preset, go into the options and choose a library preset, copy - done.

And i did look at the fuel tables etc but not really bothered with it - I'm happy to just have the lipos charged, stored, well balanced and I keep a check on the IR readings too. Other than that I don't currently bother.

I have set individual presets for all my packs - even easier I call them for the inteded purpose like Trex 700 2C - for my 6S packs, though the settings are the same for the Trex 550 2C preset ... just makes it almost fool proof, however I can still modify the settings so I havent locked them ...

Yeah thats how I did it initially but I got fed up of scrolling through the presets to find x y z.. for me I prefer to have fewer presets but adjust as needed, personal preference kinda thing. The only reason I have a separate preset for my TX LiPo is because it takes too much effort to scroll the amps down to from 10 amps to 2.6 amps.

Just noticed a typo my TX preset is 2.6amp not 4.3amp doh =/

I have the normal settings and one preset to charge at 2p 5a for my 6s 5000's this also has the one touch charge activated so I just select that preset and hold down start and off it goes no need to adjust anything.
