Wow, They could of at least done something new with it rather than just putting two PL8's in the same case. Looks stupid having two separate input leads *facepalm*

                Hey.

I quite fancy a PL6 or 8, but like my Emperor due to it having two chargers in one case, so I can have each side dedicated to a specific model battery when flying/ A twin PL8 in one case would be the best option for me, so better get saving my pennies.

Or something like this Ian, compact, lightweight and super powerful but needs 48v to get it going

How many 40V 2.7KW PSUs have you found out there?

Keeping the inputs separate allows for a wider range of power sources so not such a daft idea really ...

                      Hey Ben.

Yeah I like the look of the new iCharger because of the colour screen, it's gimmicky and also iChargers are known to be quite good on the charging process to. But as Mark said above I can see the benefits to the two units in one case, as most of the time you could just power one charger only.

                      Nice setup though.

On the subject of power supplies, I could parallel 2 pairs of the ones I make to give 50 volts and 2200 watts, or buy others that give 2000w at 25+ volts.
                      .

To run those 2 x PL8's you would need 48v to power them also wouldnt you? Not looked at the specs but if it is 2 PL8's then I assume they need 24v each?

It's pretty easy to build a power supply capable of doing it. I built a 2790W 36v one for a friend to use with his iCharger 4010 DUO, Not very expensive either

Multiples of 12V are never going to be hard, the problem with maxing out the PL8 has always been that you can't do it on 24V and 36V is too much, I suspect that is why they have raised the voltage limit to 40V now for this duo unit.
