  • PL6 taking it's time

This has probably been covered somewhere but I can't find anything that directly answers my question.

I've been using two Cellpro 10s for a while and I finally decided that taking a whole evening to charge my packs was getting ridiculous. So I invested in a PL6, MPA board and setup a 1300W PSU from some server PSU's. I've been charging packs at about 40-50 mins on my old setup but with the PL6 it's well over an hour, with 3 2200 packs just taking hour and forty minutes to do! I've set the charge amps to 2.2A and then 3P. The charger shows it's charging at 6.6A (3P=6.6A). But why was my Cellpro 10s faster? I'm must be doing somthing wrong but can't figure it out.

If you have the usb cable plug it in the pc and using the software increase the amp of the charger. The default of the pl6/8 is 10a if im not mistaken and use high power in the preset mode .

Yeah most of the default presets for some unknown reason have a max total output of 10 amps. If you use the high power preset suddenly it can output upto 40 amps.
A pl8 would be able charge those pretty fast if u wanted it to.

That's what I'm thinking, even limited to 10A it should do them quickly as 3x2.2A=6.6A

Apparently the first few charges after using a different charger will take longer as it charges a different way but once all
cells are balanced up to how the pl6 likes it will be fine. Accurate charge takes a long time too but thats because well its accurate lol. Use the high power preset and check you have told the charger the limits of you PSU
