  • The CORRECT & safe way to dispose of damaged lipo's

Yep the 'CORRECT' way Well why not, i was rather peed off tbo as this pack was killer in my Gaui up to it's 23rd cycle & suddenly it's losing voltage in 1 cell. I went to use it today & it could only just move the servo's & it really strugled to do that. Also the balance plug fell off & it was sparking & smoking indoors before this. I only have 1 lipo for the Gaui now & i'm debating if it should be another Outrage NRG 2s 35C 850mah as that pack was powerfull (once warmed up in the van footwell with the heater on full blast or left on the radiator for a while) Oh well, at least i had a final bit of fun with it. I guess i will have upset a few with this vid so just look the other way.

Of course, to be absolutely correct, you must, if possible, get as much charge into as you can before the sacrifice.
        The battery gods demand it.

why should it? just proceed with the recommendation from the bmfa and you should be good:

                            complete:
                            • Put the pack in a safe open area and connect a moderate resistance across the cell terminals until the cell is completely discharged.
                            • CAUTION: The pack may get extremely hot during the discharge.
                            • Puncture the plastic envelope and immerse in salt water for several hours.
                            • Place in your regular rubbish bin

Just to clarify things - is the first step in this method of disposal to remove the lipo from the heli? Or is that down to personal preference?
