  • Cell 4 low voltage...

    HI guys,

I think ive answered my own quesition after reading another thread in this forum, but ive noticed that when I check the cells of my new 6s 5000 cells, cell 4 is considerably lower than the rest.

Im running a 700e align for 6 minutes. sport flying, a bit of 3d here and there but nothing massive. The packs are as follows:

    3.785v 3.783v 3.784v 3.778v 3.782v 3.802v
    29% 28% 29% 14% 28% 34%

    3.785v 3.786v 3.784v 3.778v 3.782v 3.801v
    29% 29% 29% 14% 28% 33%

Is the cell 4 low reading because of the bullet connector?

Packs have been "cycled" on my charger 10 times, 4.2v down to 3.86v and then hovered 3 flights and now flying normally.

From the cell voltages you have listed there is a difference of 24mV to the highest cell voltage and a (massive, lol) 4mV to the next highest voltage from itself with regard to the first pack. I would not call either of these figures "considerable".

Yeah thats a good point, I dont really know I just go on what my battery tester tells me, and 14% versus 33% kinda worried me, but i guess its not that much. 3.778v to 3.782v is as you say only 4mv, but my tester shows that as 14% difference which im not convinved it is?

In any case, i dont suppose its that bad. I just wanted to make sure i hadnt done anything wrong with the packs or such like!

What would you say are the sensible limits for connecting packs together in paralell as far as voltage differences go?

Cells are never going to preform exactly the same. As long as they balance when charged and after use are within a reasonably tolerance Which .024v Im sure is within any manufactures tolerance you are fine. Not sure why your battery tester gives you such a big difference. What is it relating to?
If 4.2v is fully charged and 3v fully flat so 1.2v total range then surely .024v difference is less than 1% by a long way.

          no itsn't. It's exactly 2%

I agree, nothing to worry about.
