Futaba 8fg Optipower 2s 2150mah LiPo

I've been using a very old 1800mah tipple lipo in my 8fg since I got it a year ago, but it's capacity is reducing and requiring more frequent charges. This week I received a couple of 2s 2150 Opti's to use as RX packs on my 700e (new HV setup), and while using the sim tonight, my tx battery level alarm went off, so I thought I'd try the 2150 Opti in, and hey presto, its a perfect fit, better than the tipple if anything It already has the required plug fitted, but does also have some heavier guage discharge leads, but these fitted in the battery compartment just fine (although I'll probably trim these off completly for the TX.

Just thought I'd let you guys and gals know that the 2150 Optipower pack fits the 8fg just fine

It is small enough to charge just on the balance connector with the right charger.

it has 2 sets of discharge leads; a thin set with a normal servo connector fitted which plugs straight in to the tx or rx if using as an rx pack, plus a second set of heavier guage (20awg) leads, for if using on a fbl or heavy current draw machine - these ones could be cut right down as they wont be used on the tx

Good find I'm after a lipo for my 8FG also. I've ordered a couple of 2200mah Turnigy lipos that will fit. I think I just prefer to know where I'm at with the charge on the battery rather than just waiting for the NiMh to drop off.

I too have an 8fg,is it ok to use a lipo battery instead of a nimh.
