    More news from Revolectrix.

The multi-port safe parallel adapter. So this looks to be a revolectrix product and not an optipower one, if that makes any difference.

It will be interesting to see the UK price, but if it is too high, it is easy to order direct from Revolectrix.

60$... well certainly you have to pay premium for this kind of quality.
Wonder what UK price will be, probably 60£. I am not sure what is better, 6 cables or this.
My only concern about this board is initial discharge current flow when connecting batteries in parallel. If they are not equal voltage, they will balance themselves, it's not a problem with discharge wires (they can handle it), but I am not sure how PCB board will handle 5-10C currents, it can possibly damage the board.

I am pretty sure the manufacturer tested this scenario though.

        Full details here

Quite exciting stuff, I'll most likely be getting one and selling my cables

As soon as something EC5 based comes out then I may change from the cables

I don't think it will, could be a very long wait. Just use short adapter cables from deans to ec5

Andrew Hinton-Lever Sadly no as the EC5 is not a surface mountable component whereas the Deans is. We will however be supplying Deans to EC5 converter plugs. This has been a bit of an issue and we did raise this very question with the designers but these are float soldered boards so the components on them are placed by machine and floated across the solder. Typical process for this type of board and an EC5 is just not suitable. So a converter plug which is plugged in will give you the EC5 connectivity you require.
              ..as above.

Cheers Sacko, hopefully with the converter plugs that will be great, will be getting rid of existing connections & converting to this board

Just need to sort out :

                      Deans female to EC3 Device x 6
                      Deans female to EC5 Device x 6

Hate soldering deans so hoping the adapter cables come out soon.

                        Guys,

The MPA boards just came into stock so should be with your favorite retailers next week. Deans to EC5 converters not yet in but are on there way I am told. Retail for board and ribbon cable inc VAT etc £59.99.

So PLEASE support you local retailers and you also have UK warranty which you will not have on imported units if indeed they will ship into UK at all.

                                Is that still true?

It looks like they are being sold at retail for £59.99 without the necessary ribbon cable which is another £4.99 on top?
