My mistake but left this plugged in to the main board for about three months.
Helicopter left in the house as well.

The optiguard when connected to the battery takes a small amount of current, to sense when you have connected up a main battery to your machine - its a bit like when your TV is on standby, waiting for a command. Its not enough to drain it over a week or two, but anything more than a few weeks and its best to disconnect.

No, week to week is fine. The problem I found is that I have a few helis with them on. So, one model might get flown then not again for a couple of months or so. After which, the LIPO can discharge completely. Once that happens, it's new LIPO time. Not the end of world as the LIPOs aren't megabucks, but it's an inconvenience for sure.Originally posted by scuba steve View Post

I have noticed on my latest UG that the leds will flash continually if i connect power without the battery connected, which is a good thing. But this does not happen on the early ones, so make sure you connect before flying...Last edited by 10x; 01-01-2016, 03:21 PM.Regards Adrian

Yea. Just big diameter 2:1 clear heat shrink. I put a logicswitch on mine so I can turn it off from my jeti without pushing the button on the guard. This was what was recommended to cover and it looks identical to the original.
