  • optiguard intermittent flashing?

ive noticed my optiguard has started flashing intermittently during flight, a single flash every few seconds. Any idea why this is?

I had a similar thing, only my led stayed on all the time I was flying? Never found out why, but didn't affect the opti at all and once lipo was disconnected it still powered servos.

mine does this. not full on flashing but little blips.

there is an update that can be carried out on the unit to remove the constantly on led thing on HV setups. but i have never bothered. i quite like the light

An occasional flash like that should be indicating that the voltage is dropping low enough to cause the Optiguard to momentarily step in to support the voltage but not staying low enough long enough to actually trigger an alarm.

What's your power source for the radio Tony? Is it a reg or 2s lipo?
            Cheers Matt

Happens a lot on my G4, using Align servos and an A123 (non regulated) pack. Mostly happens coming out of stall turns where there is a good mix of collective and cyclic. Just improves visibility, that's all
