  • optiguard help please!!!!!

Hi every body, I'm really at a loss with my 7hv. I had a tail strike a couple days ago (only broke the tail blades luckily). But since this has happened the optiguard white light flashes once at every been of the castle esc and stays on constantly during flight the esc did go into cut off during my last flight so I have spun it up without the blades and it still does it . I cant understand why its going into cut off and why the optiguard light is staying on constantly. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you using a BEC or a separate power pack for the heli?

Also what voltage are you using on the receiver side of things?

Is the wire for your white LEDs soldered direct to the board or attached using a small plug?

Hi, I'm using a gryphon arena bec running off one 6 cell pack at 6v the wire for the lights have a little plug not soldered on . It was all running fine before the crash and ive used this setup on my last 3 700s .

OK, so at 6V and with a plugged connection it is not the problem with the oldest of the units that caused the lights to come on at high BEC voltages.

First presumption should be that it knows what it is doing and that the voltage is dropping too low and so it is triggering.

I'd be inclined to stir the sticks on the bench and see what happens, if you have any telemetry fitted it would be good to watch the RX voltage.

Possibly you have a damaged or binding servo for example...

I had a similar problem after a crash, try this, un plug your battery from the optiguard board .... white plug,... leave it out for a while.
then plug it back in . and power up your bec .
          hope fully that will work
          :-)

I was going to take the optiguard off but thought yes it is telling me something is wrong . I will have to go through the servos and see. Thanksbfor your help.

Ah yes maybe the tail servo , I was thinking the optiguard was lighting up for a reason . I have stirred the sticks but it only seems to happen when the motor spins up .

Well, I disconnected the optiguard battery but that didn't work so I also disconnected the LEDs and reconnected them and touchwood that seems to have worked , just have to get a test flight in to see properly . Amazing how sometimes the smallest of things solve a problem. Thanks for your help peeps appreciated.
