  • Instigated warranty claim

Ok I am not convinced about my new 6s 2700 pack recently purchased due to high IR readings, pretty hot after flight and lower power than expected although this is still ok.

I have emailed FP about having the pack tested (in the uk hopefully not sending it back to Hong Kong)and if deemed faulty being replaced with a new one,

For reference I will post the handling of this issue in this thread.

Have a full years warranty so expect no issues in this matter but let's see how smoothly it goes.

For balance any other lipo I own that needs attention under warranty would get the same scrutiny although none of my other packs give me any cause for concern at this time.

I suggest your success will largely depend on whether the seller/manufacrurer of said lipo reads this forum

I'm not at all sure what difference it would make if Flightpower read the forum or not, their warranty is not linked to forum posts

The thread is for other users benefit on how these dealings are handled,my correspondence to Flightpower is direct via email.

This thread serves as info to other potential customers only or current ones.

To add Julian has replied to my email already and is dealing with it now.

To repeat this thread is for information purposes only to other customers of theirs in how claims are handled.

Chris, I'm not going to clutter up your thread by responding further to the 'other' posts.

Glad to hear Julian has responded, as I would have expected.

To be honest I don't see the purpose of this thread. Not having a pop at you Chris just how my mind works. For a real reflection on the turnaround for warranty purposes I would not put a post up on a forum I know that Julian keeps an eye on. If you wanted to expedite this process then I am sure this is one way to do it, i.e. make some noise before you are finished with the return/warranty process. I am also not having a pop at Flightpower but in my mind (which is a scary place to be most days) I would have gone through the process and then posted my results for a better reflection with no adverse influence. FlightPower, please don't be offended by my post, I am merely looking at this from a scientific point of view and would do the same for any company.

It's like pointing a camera at someone then asking them to act normal, by the presence of this thread the outcome, while it maybe no different to the real outcome without the thread, is influenced in one way or another.

No offence meant to any person or party. Just covering my ass. Lol.

A fan of Heisenberg I assume?

I must admit, I do the same, when I place orders I generally do nothing to draw attention to them and comment after they are in progress.

I'm happy to report that the results are generally the same these days and in this case I'd bet Julian had responded before he even knew this thread existed, if in fact he is even aware of it now.

Closing the thread as nothing further needs saying.

Julian has offered a free upgrade to a nano pack and keep the one I already have,I have turned this down as I am only willing to send my pack in for proper testing to confirm if its indeed at fault and if so replace it like for like.

So I am going to keep running the pack until it really is no good and then go for a like for like replacement.
