Glancing through the specs. 1a balancing capability will help speed up charges with tired batteries no end. I do feel they missed an opportunity by not making it 6s capable of each charging port for the 12S flyers as charging anything above 5S requires you to utilize the two ports. It also reduces its newbie appeal a bit due to the increased knowledge required if your charging a 6S or above. 600W is a decent output and it now allows 30V input increasing efficiency which is the trend for the more powerful chargers. If I read the blurb correctly you can no longer just charge via the balance lead which was handy for top ups on a Rx pack etc

Overall it nice enough and a good partner for the PL8 for those not requiring that kind of firepower.

You may have got that wrong. I thought it was only saying you needed to also use the dschareg leads for big currents - same as the 10S.

The cellpro PL8 will do that for you but you do need a pretty hefty PSU to get the most out of it!

I'm surprised the iCharger 306b (or 1010b for 10S) doesn't get much of a mention. 1000W (at 24V input, 500W at 12V) and 30amps for only £120 from electricwingman. With the right parallel charge board, this will happily charge 6x 6S batteries at 1C with a 12V 18amp PSU or 2C with a 24V PSU. Seems a bargain to me unless people know something about this charger that I don't...?

                      Cheers,
                      Matt.

Spoke to Andy a couple of weeks ago, and he mentioned the PL6 is released soon.

                          I wonder what that does.

There's no obvious reason to have a 6S version of a PL8 (unless it was significantly cheaper for some reason) - I guess.

                          Oh well, we'll see...
