Just fried my charger.

Firstly big thanks to Ian (coolice) for my new PSU that arrived today, very pleased. I've got the intention of getting a PL8 soon so asked Ian if he would make me a PSU to suit which he did.

So I get home from work and want to try this lovely new bit of kit out, instead of having my tea and chilling with a beer first, I go like a bull in a china shop and connect my trusty old cellpro 10s up and boot it up - woof! Smoke everywhere. Being the numpty I am, I've gone and put 25v straight through it. Was hoping that the fuse on the side had blown but no something has cooked inside. I've let it sit for a bit and tried to connect it back to the old PSU and all that's happening is the backlight lights up and the rest is dead.

Anyone reckon it's repairable or is it a fancy paper weight?

Oh well, I've deffo had worse days in the hobby. Good point though about getting the PL8 sooner :-) didn't think of that lol. My mrs will think I've done it on purpose haha

Is it a simple repair? I would have been looking to sell it once I got a pl8 but not sure if anyone would want to buy a repaired one. I don't want to spend a fortune getting it repaired if its no use to anyone.

I have just done exactly the same thing....GRRRRRRR...!

I have a PL8 but I kept the Cellpro 10s as it is so handy and a really versatile charger! plus I could still charge my 10 cell packs on it, unlike the PL8.

I am gutted, I had my PSU turned up to 30v output and just plugged the 10s in without thinking Big spark and no lights on the charger...I was hoping it could be fixed!
