  • Align 35A Brushless ESC(Governer Mode) RCE-BL35P soft start?

I have fitted a Align 35A Brushless ESC(Governer Mode) RCE-BL35P HES35P01 ESC to my 450, I have set it per the instruction.

The soft start seems to work when I first raise the throttle, but if I drop the throttle to the mid stick and then increase it the motor does not immediately increase it seems to be so soft starting again is this normal?

I thought soft start was only used when the throttle was at increased from the lowest stick position but once it is running the throttle response should be immediate with the stick change, is this not the case?

I havent actually flown this yet only tested on the desk, will this be alright when I do/

Have I set something wrong or need to do something else?

The throttle curve is a straight line 0 to 100.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi Anthony,

With align esc's it's always best to run a flat throttle curve rather than using the gov mode. Align gov's were never really the best. Change your gear ratio so that at 90-100% flat line you achiece your target headspeed. The esc's are their most efficent at 100% throttle. Try turning the gov off and doing the test again, I'm sure it will increase speed much quicker without the gov. You want soft start no gov.

I dont think I set it up to use the Governor mode but I will check when I get home. I was planning to use my own curves for normal and Idle up anyway.

      Thanks for the help.

Are you testing it with the blades on? It may be different without a load. If it is on load and goes back into soft start then it is unusable. This should only happen after the motor stops. If you keep the heli below 3 to 6 feet it will land easily if the motor cuts, so long as you don't change the throttle which controls the collective.
