I need some advice about a lipo balancer.
My lipo charger doesn't have a balancer built in. It's a Ripmax Pro Peak Sigma (1, not 2). See it here. It's fine as it is for charging the single cell batteries for my micro helis, but I've ordered a 6 way cable to charge 6 MCPX batteries at once, so I want to be able to balance these while charging, so I bought a Ripmax EQ-5. What I didn't realise at the time was that there is 2 versions - an old version that comes with different cables for various cells, and a newer version that comes with a little balance board instead. See pics below:
eq-5 original.jpg - this is the one I have
eq-5 new.jpg - this is the newer one
My question is, can I just cut the ends off one of the output cables that I have with mine and solder a more suitable connector on the end (say female banana connectors for example), or would I need to buy some kind of adapter? I can buy the newer version cable + balance board farily cheap online, but even it doesn't seem to have any 'normal' connectors (JST/E-Flite single sell/MCPX etc.). I'm guessing it does't come with those connectors as they're generally only used for single cell batteries?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
