  • EC5 connector help.

I have just got some EC5 connectors for my ESP500. I am a little confused how they go togeather. I believe the tubes go into the male plastic connector and this goes on the battery?

The larger female gold connectors go in the larger plastic connector.

The males go in the smaller plastic

Solder the golds first and then push into the plastic till they click

Never bought a battery with them fitted, but i put the female on the battery and male on the ESC/charger.

    Hope that helps

Just be careful when you attempt to push the connectors in to the plastic. You'll probably find that to get the connector to click into position you will need to press down on it with something like a hex driver.

Did this on Sunday, slipped and managed to put a 2mm shaft right through my thumb. Went in by the finger nail and out the other side of my thumb!! Hospital tomorrow to have it checked out, looks like it might be infected. Cant fly or play me Guitar - so pretty ****ed off at the moment!

I find EC3 easy enough but EC5 are a complete nightmare at times! Nearly did the above myself and have damaged a few in the past.

Hurt don't come close! When i first saw it after the initial shock, it reminded me of the scene from the Omen - with the spike through the Priest!

Agreed! I have just received 30 pairs last week to replace the ones I have already soldered on to my lipos....the wrong way round....and all my friends lipos too! A total of 14 lipos not including my new ones! Ballache. But good connectors!

I did that but with a flat head screwdriver, through my thumb and the nail stopped it going all the way through.

Has the intense throbbing started yet?
