LIPRO QUAD 6 vs Etronix Powerpal 4

Looking for a charger for 450 3s batteries (2200mah) and have come across these two chargers.

They look the same, except for the colour.

Are they the same?

There is a cost difference of 21 pence.

I too like the look of the lipro quad charger. would a ripmax power supply be enough to run 4 lipos at once?

These both look very much like the Imax B6 Quattro, which I have. I run it off a Fusion 200 watt PSU but I only do two of the 6s 2650 packs at a time on that PSU. I still find it very useful and use it all the time when I need to charge the packs for my 500 or 450 and the Hyperion charger is being used for my bigger packs.

i have the etronix one

i charge 4x 6 cell 2650mah lipos at the same time on it at 2.5A each

and from a ripmax 20A psu

works effortlessly, easy to use and fulfils all my charging needs, thinking of a second one though

good for my fixed wing as i have 2x Nimhs, 1x Lipo and the TX to charge and this does it all at the same time

With the etronix, what is lipo store mode? is this a charge / discharge cycle?

What value should i put in for the fast charge? The 1C capacity of the battery or 1.5C ? The manual is terrible.

I like the lipro chargers, but since buying an icharger I have realised that charging the same exact pack at the same rate take ages longer to balance on the lipro!

Lipo store mode is good to have. Takes the pack to 50% up or down.

Well, 18 months later and 1 of the 4 chargers in my powerpal 4 has died.

I've emailed the manufacturer to see if they will fix it. 18 months from a product that cost >£120 ! --

I'm not impressed.

I've probably only changed 3-4 batteries on the 1 of the 4 that died as its set up for NiMH batteries which i rarely use now, the other 3 are fine, and are used for charging LiPOs.

some of the early powerpals did have one charger go down, its not uncommon. You should have contacted CML Distribution anyway, Etronix wont enter into correspondence with the end user.

I also have a powerpal works fine but its only 50w per channel so takes bloody ages!!! plus side is im charging 4 at once tho so not all bad. Will get a more powerful one once ive fixed all my helis
